Bark in the Park Pledge Walk and Pet Expo

Saturday, May 10, 2008
Pet Expo: 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Walk Registration: 10 a.m. / Pledge Walk: 11 a.m.
Goodyear Metropark, Akron

The Bark in the Park Pledge Walk is a chance for you and your pet to enjoy a 1 mile walk and help the Humane Society of Greater Akron's homeless animals at the same time! Proceeds will benefit animals that are victims of cruelty, neglect, illness, and injury, and provide adoption services, education, and community outreach programs.

Please stop by the North Akron Savings Bank tent to say hello and bring your kids to get their faces painted. (Last year we had a few adults get their faces painted too!)

NASB Participates in East Akron Development Corporation’s Center for Homeownership Campaign

The East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation (EANDC) is a nonprofit community development corporation that provides housing and economic development activities and services for the East Akron community and surrounding areas.

Stephen Hailer, president of North Akron Savings Bank, serves as campaign co-chair of the EANDC’s Center for Homeownership. Through the Center, counseling services are offered to low and moderate income families who are potential first time home buyers and include home buyer education, individual counseling, and foreclosure prevention.

“Clients that have successfully completed homeownership counseling services understand the importance and value of owning, maintaining, and upgrading their homes,” said Hailer. “It gives me great satisfaction to witness the impact of expanded home ownership on the revitalization of East Akron and how it contributes to a renewed quality of life for its residents and the community-at-large.”

To ensure that EANDC’s Center for homeownership will remain viable and financially successful for the future, it is vital that funds be secured over the long term. EANDC invites the community to invest in the revitalization of East Akron through a gift or pledge that will support its Homeownership Counseling Program. Pledges may be paid over a five-year period and all gifts are tax deductible as allowed by law. Please call (330) 724-0244 for more information or to make a contribution.
